8-Step Process

1. Confirm Vehicle Weight

   Under 3.5t: vignette. Over 3.5t: GO-Box. Check registration document.

2. Check Trailer

   Trailers need separate vignettes. Purchase for trailer's plate independently.

3. Choose Validity

   Use Selection Matrix. When uncertain, choose longer period.

4. Prepare Plate Number

   Exact plate from registration document. Include country prefix for foreign plates.

5. Access ASFINAG Portal

   shop.asfinag.at only. Avoid unofficial resellers.

6. Complete Purchase

   Enter plate, select type, choose start date, pay. Visa, Mastercard, Maestro accepted.

7. Save Confirmation

   Save email with transaction reference. No physical document needed.

8. Verify Registration

   Check at asfinag.at before driving. Allow up to 18 hours in rare cases.

Exceptions

• Non-refundable once activated
• One active vignette per plate
• Motorcycles under 50cc: exempt
• Emergency/military: exempt
• Section tolls not covered
• Foreign plates: same rules
• Cannot transfer between vehicles
• Diplomatic vehicles: check with embassy
